Walter Hunts patent drawing for his safety pin, 1849 #10408042

WebOct 19, 2024 · This problem was solved by the American mechanic Walter Hunt, in 1849. Hunt patented the safety pin, which he called a dress pin. WebHunt quickly became embroiled in this when he attempted to advance his claims on the design. Unfortunately, Hunt's designs were found to have several faults and flaws and Howe was awarded the patent for the improved machine.
